Floriana is situated next to
Valletta and is relatively unknown to anyone who is not Maltese who mistake it for part of Valletta. Much like Valletta, it has some amazing art and architecture which can be seen on arrival to Floriana where the Triton Fountain can be seen in the middle of the main
bus terminus.
There a number of places of interest including the lovely Argotti Gardens built back in 1774, the Catholic Institute and the RAF & war memorials can be found here.
Granaries square quite often hosts large
events, unknown to many underneath them are huge 17th century silo's once holding war time and food supplies. Although in good condition, due to modern storage these are no longer used, however, over 5000 tons of grain and wheat could be stored and over the years they proved incredably helpful, particularly in the last world war where the island was under attack for over 2 years.
